How Important is Imaging for Dentistry?
Imaging techniques in dentistry are just as important as intraoral examination techniques. Cavities in teeth, nerve chambers, nerve canals, root conditions, surrounding bone, jawbone, jaw joints, and bone spaces, as well as disorders affecting these areas, can sometimes only be seen through X-rays. In this context, X-rays can be considered indispensable elements in dentistry.
Periapical X-ray
Periapical X-rays provide imaging of only a small part of the teeth and bone. This allows for clear imaging in a small area, limiting radiation exposure to that specific area. Our clinic uses periapical X-ray devices for imaging.
Panoramic X-ray
Panoramic X-rays provide imaging of a large portion of the teeth and jawbones. This broad view allows for simultaneous evaluation of teeth and jawbones. To protect against radiation, necessary equipment such as lead aprons, lead collars, and lead thyroid shields are used. Our clinic uses panoramic X-ray devices for imaging.
Joint X-rays
Joint X-rays provide imaging and monitoring of the interjaw joint condition. They are particularly important for diagnosing and treating joint disorders caused by teeth grinding and clenching. To protect against radiation, necessary equipment such as lead aprons, lead collars, and lead thyroid shields are used. Our clinic performs joint X-rays.
Sinus X-rays
Sinus X-rays provide imaging and monitoring of the cranial cavities located just above the upper jaw. They are particularly useful for planning treatments in the upper jaw. Sinus X-rays are essential for treatment planning before extractions and implants in patients with low sinuses or reduced jawbone. To protect against radiation, necessary equipment such as lead aprons, lead collars, and lead thyroid shields are used. Our clinic performs sinus X-rays.
